Frauke Coppieters is assistant professor within RARE-MED, a Ghent University multidisciplinary consortium for basic and translational research on precision medicine for rare diseases (Department of Biomolecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences). Her research focuses on retinal disease modelling and new genetic therapies for inherited blindness.

Prof. Karen De Clerck is Full Professor at the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering at Ghent University. She is head of the Centre for Textile Science and Engineering (CTSE) and group leader of the Advanced Fiber Materials Research Group. She is an expert in the production, characterization and application of advanced fibrous materials.  

Katrien Remaut is associate professor at the Lab General Biochemistry and Physical Pharmacy and focuses on nanoparticle-based approaches for ocular gene delivery and the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis.

Ruslan Dmitriev leads the Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials group at the Department of Human Structure and Repair, Ghent University.

Robrecht Raedt holds a 100% professorship at Ghent University (www.4BRAIN.be) and is director of the animal facility of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
